What to Bring (Essentials & Comfort)
- Alaska Fishing License: This is mandatory! Ensure you have it before the trip.
- Lunch, Drinks, & Snacks: Pack plenty of food and beverages to keep you energized throughout the day.
- Consider a thermos for hot drinks.
- Water is crucial!
- Camera/Smartphone: Capture the stunning scenery and your impressive catches.
- Consider a waterproof case or bag.
- Sunscreen and Lip Balm: Even on cloudy days, the Alaskan sun can be intense.
- Sunglasses (Polarized Recommended): Protect your eyes and reduce glare on the water.
- Waterproof Bag or Dry Bag: To protect valuables from spray and rain.
- Fishing Gloves (Optional): Protect your hands and improve grip.
- Available at local shops like Kachemak Gear Shed or Ulmer’s.
- Motion Sickness Medication (Optional): If you're prone to seasickness, take medication before the trip.

What to Wear (Layers & Protection)
- Base Layer (Moisture-Wicking): Synthetic or wool fabric to keep you dry.
- Insulating Layer (Fleece or Wool): For warmth, as temperatures can fluctuate.
- Waterproof & Windproof Outer Layer (Jacket and Pants): Essential for staying dry and comfortable.
- Warm Socks (Wool or Synthetic): Keep your feet warm, even if they get wet.
- Waterproof Boots or Shoes: Protect your feet from water and provide good traction.
- Warm Hat or Beanie: To protect your head and ears from the cold.
- Gloves (Waterproof or Water-Resistant): To keep your hands warm and dry.
- Neck Gaiter or Scarf (Optional): For added warmth and protection from wind.
- Layers are key! Be prepared to add or remove clothing as the weather changes.

Please do NOT bring: Pets, children under 6 unless discussed ahead of time, marijuana or drugs, firearms, bulky coolers, valuable jewelry, or things that can’t get wet.
