Halibut Regualtions
2025 Fishing Halibut Regulations have been officially posted here. For 3A which incorperates Homer, the regulations are a daily bag limit of 2 fish, with one of the two fish under 27 inches. There is no halibut retention on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
Rockfish Regulations
2025 rockfish bag limits for the North Gulf Coast and Cook Inlet were changed by Emergency Order as of 5/21/25.
Pelagic Rockfish
2 per day and 4 in possession
Nonpelagic Rockfish
1 per day and 2 in possession
Yelloweye Rockfish
yelloweye rockfish fall under the Nonpelagic rockfish and fall under the same bag limit but have additional protections. There is no retention of yelloweye rockfish before July 1st
Salmon Regulations
There are 5 species of salmon found in Alaskan waters. There is an aggregate limit of 6 salmon per day, 6 in possession, no size limit but there is specific bag limits on some of the individual species.
King Salmon
2025 King Salmon bag limits for Upper and Lower Cook Inlet were changed by Emergency Order as of 2/11/2025.
The Emergency Order closes all Salmon fishing North of Bluff Point (seen in pink) between May 1st and August 15th. It also sets the bag and possession limit to one King Salmon from April 1st to April 30th and August 16th to September 15th.
South of Bluff Point the bag and possession limit of 1 King Salmon between April 1st to September 15th.
There is an annual limit of 5 King Salmon 20 inches or longer between April 1st and August 30th.
Coho Salmon
3 per day and 3 in possession with no size restriction.
Other Salmon
6 per day and 6 in possession.
Note that your total number of salmon between all species cannot exceed 6
Lingcod Regulations
July 1st to December 31st: 1 per day, 1 in possession, must be at least 35 inches with head attached or 28 inches frim tip of tail to front of dorsal fin with head removed.
